Windowlicker

Scanning through those tinted glasses

Its cloudy from one side, but bright from another

What can you see?

See

That it starts off as molten ash

Blown through, becoming clear

Becoming protective

Hopefully transparent throughout its shelf life

Maybe even bulletproof one day

All ideals turn into stained glass in the end

An accumulation of different, fragile colours

Welded together beautifully

In the shape of a holy spirit

Breathing a noisy spectrum into the church

The reflection is what’s worshipped

And what lead them to your altar

  1. Stunning debut here; variegated diction, lush and evocative imagery, and resonant verse. I look forward to reading more from you!
